Students selected for the next MSB cohort will start classes on campus in July.

LINKAGES TO ARCOM AND ACHE PROGRAMS

Many, although not all, students in the MSB program are interested in pursuing a professional degree to become a leader in the health care industry. Students who earn a B or better in MSB coursework are guaranteed an interview or admission to other ACHE programs if they apply, including the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (ARCOM), ACHE School of Physical Therapy (DPT), and ACHE School of Occupational Therapy (OTD).  

Guaranteed acceptance into ARCOM for MSB students who:

  • Complete the Fall semester with a minimum 3.2 GPA and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA upon successful completion of the program in the Spring.
  • Maintain good conduct standing.
  • Obtain a formal recommendation from the MSB Program Director and an additional letter of recommendation from an MSB faculty.
  • Meet the admissions requirements of ARCOM.
 

Expected Student Learning Outcomes

A student who successfully completes the program of study leading to the Master of Science in Biomedicine will be able to achieve the following:

  • A graduate of this program will have a solid foundation in medical knowledge as it relates to the areas of anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, cellular and molecular biology, pathological basis of disease and microbiology and immunology.
  • A graduate of this program will learn how the basic sciences integrate with clinical practice.
  • A graduate of this program will learn how to interact on a professional basis with their future colleagues through peer evaluation.
